How We Care

At The Skin Alley, we endeavour to be kind to mother nature. We have taken several initiatives to lower our carbon footprint.

As The Skin Alley only imports products from manufacturers and wholesalers, we have no control over packaging and the waste they produce. However, we endeavour to be kind to mother nature by eliminating all plastics. Our standard shipping boxes and void fillers are 100% recyclable so please be a part of the mission by removing all shipping labels and placing them into your recycling bin. Smaller orders will be shipped by eco-compostable satchel bags, which are 100% biodegradable and made from a combination of cornstarch, PLA (vegetable-based plastic material) and PBAT (composting co-polymer). What does this mean? Our mailing bags will break down back into earth between 90-180 days. To speed up this process you can cut the bags into smaller pieces and place them in your compost bins. Check whether your local council will allow the disposal of compostable packaging in green bins. Just remember to remove all shipping labels. We are also using a recyclable paper-based bubble wrap alternative to protect your goodies. So love your skin, but most importantly love the Earth!

We also lower our carbon footprint by paying a premium surcharge on goods we provide to you through our freight partners. For instance, consolidation with our primary import partner DHL and partaking in their GoGreen carbon neutral program. This service helps us combat climate change by offsetting emissions resulted from the transportation of goods. The Skin Alley is getting behind their mission of zero emissions by 2050. Some approaches include reducing local air pollution by implementing cleaner pick-up and delivery solutions on first and last mile services. Incorporating Green Solutions into sales to develop greener customer supply chains. Certifying numerous employees to specialise and participate in environmental activities such as joint partnerships in planting one million trees each year.

All deliveries to you are also carbon neutral thanks to the extensive efforts of Australia post. They purchase carbon offset credits and reduce emissions in their operations to match the environmental impacts resulting from every parcel that they deliver.
